My love for art started in my aunt’s basement in the late ’80s—watching my older cousin sketch characters and letterforms I’d never seen before. From that moment on, I was hooked.
I followed his lead and enrolled at Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts, where I majored in art and got hands-on experience in everything from painting and drawing to printmaking. It gave me a solid creative foundation—but like a lot of artists, I wasn’t sure how to turn it into a career.
So I took a detour into sales. And while I learned a lot, it didn’t take long to realize my heart wasn’t in it. I was sketching during meetings, on phone calls, at lunch—anytime a pen touched paper, I was creating. Eventually, I had to be honest with myself: the money was fine, but I wasn’t fulfilled.
A mentor introduced me to graphic design, and that changed everything. I made the leap, went back to school, and earned my degree from Villa Maria College. It wasn’t always easy, but it was the right move. Since then, I’ve had the chance to work with some great teams, contribute to brands I respect, and grow as both a designer and a creative thinker.
These days, my focus is on continuing to evolve—pushing my skills, collaborating with good people, and creating work that feels thoughtful, intentional, and visually strong. Whether it inspires, motivates, or simply makes someone pause for a moment—that’s the kind of impact I’m aiming for.
